From March 30 to April 4, VIBBALL participated in the Basketball Wien Osterturnier 2026, one of Central Europe’s largest and most competitive youth basketball tournaments, with two teams representing the club.
Throughout the tournament, our players competed at a high level against strong and well-prepared teams from across Europe. The event provided an excellent opportunity for our athletes to challenge themselves, gain valuable international experience, and continue their development in a highly competitive environment.
We are proud of our teams’ performances, which showcased their talent, determination, and teamwork against some outstanding basketball programs.
Our U16 team finished 3rd in their group, delivering a particularly strong performance in a closely contested game against the Berlin Tigers, who ultimately advanced to the semifinals among 94 participating teams.
Our U20 team finished 4th in a highly competitive group, demonstrating resilience and consistency in several close matchups against quality opponents.
Discovering Vienna
Beyond the competition, the tournament also offered valuable cultural experiences. Our players had the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Vienna, with a special highlight being a visit to the historic Vienna City Hall. This experience allowed our athletes to further broaden their horizons and strengthen team bonds off the court.
