This April 7-11, 2025 VIBBALL organized the 7th edition of a VIBBALL Mini Camp in Luxembourg. During these 5 days more than 20 players improved their basketball skills.

The 4th International VIBBALL Camp started on July 20, 2024. This year was a collaboration with Fiba project #HerWorldHerRules. The camp was a six-day overnight camp and it was extremely successul The children had two practices a day. By the end of the camp we saw the development of the players.

Vass Ildiko Basketball Echternach (VIBBALL) received an award from the Association des Anciens du Basketball Luxembourgeois for the “Initiative in creating a new club, the quality of your work with young people and the success of your efforts in such a short space of time. We are delighted that, thanks to your initiative, basketball is back in the east of the country”.

We gathered together in Echternach to celebrate the National Day of Luxembourg on June 23, 2024.

Annual spring cleanup, known as the “Grouss Botz”, it’s a 50-year tradition where Luxembourg aims to remove the tons of litter that are dumped every year in this beautiful country. It is also a big message, to be aware of our actions, every piece counts.

We had a great international experience! The Club of Boadilla Monsters/ Madrid/ Spain has been our guest for 3 days in March, 2024 .

Congratulations to Emil Denter for being selected in March for the U12 Luxembourgish National team! In March, 2024 he turned 12 years and it is exactly 3 and a half years ago that he stepped into the gym on our very first practice.

During 14-17 February, 2024 a 3 days VIBBALL mini-camp took place. There were high intensity practices, different competitions and games. Moreover there was also a referee course organized in the camp.

In October 2023 VIBBALL was happy and proud to be part of the Her World Her Rules FIBA project along with the Luxembourgish Basketball Federation. The FIBA project continued with a February, 2024 session for young girls.

The 3rd VIBBALL International Summer Camp in Echternach started August 20 and ended August 26, 2023.Thanks to the 67 players who joined the camp, to their parents who trust in VIBBALL and to all the 17 coaches who were so motivated to help those kids to have great memories during these 6 days. The children had two practices a day lead by experienced coaches. During these practices the players developed well and got better at different skills.

In June 2023 the new sport gym was inaugurated in Echternach. We were so thankful that we started to use the gym from beginning of July (2023) for regular practices / youth games and also for the 3rd Vibball International Summer Camp in August.

Two weeks of intense practices were held for VIBBALL players as an Easter Mini Camp. We had great atmosphere, the kids worked extremely well and day by day we got better.

VIBBALL Camp was organized between 13-16 February 2023. At the first camp day the players worked hard indoor/outdoor and enjoyed the sunny day. During these four days players had the chance to practice twice a day and did team bonding activites.

In November we organized a 3 days VIBBALL mini-camp. With 2 practices every day, with a lunch at the Youth Hostel organised and paid by the club, it was a great chance for 42 players to improve and enjoy the time together. Thanks to all the coaches, players and parents who helped us.

In the week of July 18-24 we had the International Summer Camp. In the camp there were 67 kids, from which some international players too, and most of these players slept overnight for a week. The children had two practices a day lead by experienced coaches. During these practices we saw the development of these players that worked hard and took advantage of this learning experience.

Congratulations to Jeremi for the first game with the Luxembourgish U12 national team!The game was held April 30, 2023 vs SG Saarland.

After two years with Les Sangliers Wiltz and 2 years with Etzella Ettelbruck, where Jovana had an average of 24 points, 9.6 rebounds and 5 assists last season, she decided to take her talents to Sparta Bertrange.

During the Carnival school break we had a lot of team practices for our different age groups and we made individual practices as well. On the weekend we organised the VIBBALL Camp especially for kids who didn’t have the chance to go for a longer holiday during this period.

Last weekend Luxembourg hosted Romania for one of the FIBA Eurobasket 2025 Pre-qualifier games. The visitors won this exciting game with 70-73. Many spectators were present at the Coque and it created an amazing atmosphere in the gym. We hope that our VIBBALL players and parents have enjoyed the game by attending or watching the live-stream we shared with them.

Last weekend four of our youth teams played their first official games. Everybody involved with VIBBALL Echternach was happy to start this journey. We are proud that Echternach is represented again in Luxembourgish Basketball.

Kincso, a 25 year old Romanian national team player, who won the Romanian Championship and Cup last season, chooses Luxembourg as the country to fulfill her future dreams. She will help VIBBALL Echternach to further develop their youth program. Kincso is still in the prime of her basketball career and proved last season in the EuroCup and Romanian league how good player and shooter she is.

Last weekend VIBBALL Echternach had another friendly game against Larochette, but this time with our U10 boys team. It was a great experience for our boys to play their first real basketball game, although some of them were extremely nervous.

This Sunday we had our first friendly game against Larochette after some months of practicing. All players were very excited to be able to play a real basketball game and to show what they learned during practices.

We are organizing an International Basketball Camp from Monday 19 July until Sunday 25 July 2021 at the Youth Hostel Echternach in Luxembourg for players between 9-15 years old. We would like to introduce Sonka Anetta, our VIBBALL Nutritionist. She graduated in 2017 at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Targu Mures with a Nutrition and Dietetics specialisation. She has played basketball under coach Ildiko Vass for BBALL6, a basketball club in Romania that Ildiko has founded. Together they won the first place at U18 Romanian National Championship, second place at U17 Romanian National Championship and two times first place in Division B with the BBALL6 team. She now lives and works in England and she is helping us to increase the healthy lifestyle of our players and coaches. ‘Moni’ has been the most well-known and well-recognized player in Romanian Basketball in the last 30 years. She has accomplished a lot as a professional basketball player since she has played in several European Championships with the Romanian Senior National team. She had 270 selections while also showing her high level in Romanian and other European club teams. Nowadays, she is working as a coach and she has started a basketball academy in Arad, Romania. We are extremely fortunate that she has become one of our VIBBALL ambassadors and joined our VIBBALL family.

All the children were glad to get back in action and start practicing again this week. Our fundamental practices are held in safe conditions and we follow all the necessary requirements and rules. There were a lot of happy faces at the end of practices, when our VIBBALL mascot Leopárd was introduced. The players received this panther mascot to bring a little VIBBALL feeling into their homes too. Let’s go VIBBALL Panthers!

Former Luxembourg basketball star Marco Rock(Rocky) was visiting Vass Ildikó Basketball Club in Echternach today. Rocky played basketball in different clubs in Luxembourg and against other countries with the National team. He has also been coaching for many years and now he is the Head Coach of the Special Olympic Basketball Team of Luxembourg. He came to visit VIBBALL Echternach to encourage the importance of good basketball practices for the youngest players.

VIBBALL Echternach has a new practice schedule to create better training opportunities for all the new children that are joining our club. Now the players in the 4 different age categories U12, U10, U8 and U6 have the opportunity to practice at least 2 times per week with players of the same age group. The Federation of Luxembourgish Basketball (FLBB) and the clubs unanimously expressed their common will to continue youth practices to allow young players to practice and play the sport that they love. Together, they will develop safe practice conditions for the benefit of the youth. This is according to the press conference by our sports Minister on the 29th of October, during which the rules and restrictions for sports were explained in the context of the Covid-19-virus. All basketball games are postponed until at least the 1st of January 2021.

VIBBALL Echternach has recently started with their activities for young players to enjoy basketball. Our essences of proper youth development with the slogan ‘Play to Learn and Learn to Play’ is supported by many in Luxembourg and all around the world. Some of them support Vass Ildikó Basketball in a special way. VIBBALL Echternach got extra support from Great Britain with having Kevin Coleman over as a guest coach. This founder of Swifts Basketball Club has much experience in coaching on many levels around the world and played and coached on Division 1 level in GB ??. He also was involved with Britain’s iconic Crystal Palace basketball club as cadet player and owner and assisting the last year at Oklahoma City University.

After a good start with VIBBALL aready 18 children between 3 and 11 years got involved in the first 2 weeks of this season. Therefor VIBBALL Echternach offers 2 extra practices on September 19 and 26, 10.00-12.00 in the Youth Hostel of Echternach for children in the age categories 6-11 years old.

After playing professional basketball for 24 years, I decided to end my career after the Spring of 2020. During my career, I have experienced a lot starting from studying the game, to continuously improving and the hard work that it took me to develop myself. I had a great journey where I created unforgettable memories and sometimes went through some hardships. I experienced empathy, understanding from others, or even sometimes the opposite, there were some misunderstandings but mostly encouragements and recognition and help from others.
